PICKLE (PICKLE) FAQ
What is Pickle Finance and its primary function?
Pickle Finance is a yield aggregator designed to maximize returns for stablecoins and Liquidity Provider (LP) tokens. The protocol automates the process of harvesting rewards from various DeFi platforms, selling them, and reinvesting the proceeds. This automated compounding mechanism saves users the significant time and gas fees associated with manual yield farming.
How do Pickle Jars and Pickle Farms differ?
Pickle Jars (pJars) are automated vaults where users deposit assets. The Jar compounds yield automatically, and users receive pTokens as receipts representing their share. Pickle Farms are secondary staking pools where users can deposit those pTokens. Staking in a Farm allows users to earn additional native protocol token rewards on top of the yield already being compounded within the Jar.
What are the utilities of the PICKLE and DILL tokens?
PICKLE is the primary incentive and governance token, distributed to reward farmers and used for voting on protocol proposals. DILL is the locked version of the token. By locking their tokens for a set duration of up to four years, holders receive DILL, which grants them protocol revenue sharing, governance power over reward emissions via gauges, and boosted farming rewards of up to 2.5x.
What measures were taken following the project's historical security exploit?
Following a smart contract vulnerability in late 2020, the project collaborated with a leading yield aggregator team to share security resources and development expertise. They implemented a recovery plan, including the creation of a debt-tracking token for affected users. Since then, the protocol has undergone rigorous audits by professional firms like MixBites and Haechi Audit to ensure it meets modern security standards.
Why doesn't the quantity of pTokens increase as rewards are earned?
The quantity of pTokens in a user's wallet remains static; however, the value of each pToken grows over time. As the Jar compounds rewards back into the underlying pool, the exchange rate between the pToken and the deposited asset increases. The accrued profit is realized when the user withdraws their assets and redeems their pTokens for the underlying capital.
Where can users acquire the native token and what is the project's current status?
The token is primarily available on major decentralized exchanges. While considered a legacy DeFi protocol, it remains active across multiple blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Polygon, and Arbitrum. It continues to operate as a functional yield aggregator, maintaining its own governance and infrastructure while benefiting from strategic partnerships within the broader DeFi ecosystem.
